Alpha Omega Epsilon Alumni Association
Frequently Asked Questions
After collegiate members graduate and leave their campuses, it can be difficult to stay in touch with members new and old. There are also moments throughout every member’s personal and professional lives where there are unanswered questions and difficult dilemmas. This is where the Alumni Association can provide connections to other members of AΩE, workshops for career development, and resources for growth, among other events and initiatives.
Social networks may connect people virtually but don’t provide them opportunities to link up outside of messaging platforms. General career development workshops and courses aren’t tailored to the needs and drives of those who attend. An Alumni Association is a collective organization that provides structure for connection between members and is able to accumulate resources to provide bespoke personal and professional resources .
The Alumni Association will be a fully volunteer-run operation that’s financially separate from the Alpha Omega Epsilon International Organization. The Director of Alumni Relations will oversee its general strategic direction while the day-to-day operations are handled by the Alumni Association Committee Chair.
The Alumni Association will be funded solely from membership fees. The committee will ask for an allotment of funds from the Sorority to help cover start-up costs. It is intended that in the future the Association will be sustainable by offering membership discounts, volunteering waivers, promissory note discounts, etc...
Membership fees will cover the per person cost of running the Alumni Association, including operational tools, merchandise orders, and event expenses. There will be an emphasis on ensuring every member has equitable access to equivalent programming no matter their proximity to the regional coordinators’ focus. For example, members in a rural area will have programming equivalent in cost and quality to that of members in areas with higher quantities of in-person events.
- Alumni chapter is only accessible to Alum from that specific collegiate chapter, and must be set up with structure similar to that of a collegiate chapter (i.e. board members, officers, finances)
- The Alumni Association is run by volunteers, spans an international level for all Alum in good standing, members don’t need to handle the logistics of operation (unless they volunteer!)
